Worldlaps: who makes it and with what data

Who is behind it
Worldlaps is a project by Abel Antonino Juberías, who designs it and tests it by driving the tracks in the game. It is made in Sagunto, and the first map it was put to the test on was Puerto de Sagunto itself: its streets, its beach and its docks.
The idea is simple: anyone with Assetto Corsa should be able to drive down their own street, up the pass they cycle or along a real rally stage, without spending weeks modelling in Blender.
What Worldlaps is
A program for Windows 10 and 11. You mark an area on a real map (or click the roads of a stage) and it generates a complete Assetto Corsa track: streets, buildings, terrain, aerial imagery, vegetation, road signs, AI line and cameras, ready to install with one click. It has five modes: free roam, rally stage, circuit on real streets, designed circuit and circuit editor.
Everything is processed on your computer. The free version generates areas up to 1 km² and the full version has no limit.
What data it uses
Every track is made with open data whose licences allow this use with attribution, and every track carries those attributions inside:
- Roads and buildings: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
- Terrain and imagery for Spain: © Instituto Geográfico Nacional (PNOA, MDT), CC BY 4.0.
- Terrain and imagery for other countries: the official services of France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, England, Norway, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, the US and more than a dozen other countries and regions. The list is in countries with official data.
- Land cover: © ESA WorldCover, CC BY 4.0.
- Terrain for the rest of the world: © Copernicus DEM and USGS 3DEP.
- Worldlaps' own models and textures: CC0.
Full terms are in the open data attributions.
What it is not
- Not a Kunos product. Assetto Corsa is a trademark of Kunos Simulazioni. Worldlaps is not affiliated with Kunos or 505 Games.
- Not a laser scan. Tracks are as faithful as OpenStreetMap and each country's terrain are.
- Not for Assetto Corsa EVO or Competizione, nor for Mac: it is for the 2014 Assetto Corsa on Windows.
- Not a cloud service. Your maps are generated on your PC and are not sent anywhere.
If you are comparing options, the comparison with TreCorsa, Race Track Builder and Blender explains when another tool suits you better.
